Erik Ortvad (1917-2008), oil pastel painting with abstract shapes in warm colors. It is mounted in a silver frame behind glass.

The work is signed and dated 1947.

The work shows a dynamic, organic composition with swirling lines and soft earth and pastel colors, which is very characteristic of the early, spontaneous experiments that led to the formation of the avant-garde movement CoBrA, of which Erik Ortvad was a member.

Frame dimensions 46.0 x 38.0 cm., the work measures 30.5 x 22.8 cm.

The frame has a little patina, otherwise excellent condition.
